Digital Synthesis Workshop: 1p-4p (FULL)
Rylee Lyman and I will lead participants through the fundamentals of making and shaping sound through VCV Rack, a free software modular synthesizer. We’ll cover the basics of the program’s interface, dig into signal flow and mixing, and explore techniques for creating modulation and changing timbre. This workshop is perfect for those curious about modular synthesis, digital music making, and sound design.

- A. Campbell Payne: a performer and composer based in Boston who creates dance and ambient music that explores the concepts of pattern, chance, repetition, recursion, time, and community.
- Alanza: a polymath living in Brooklyn, NY. Musically, they are interested in form, timbre and a good riff. Lately they are trying to strike a balance between the composed and the improvised, the sequenced and the performed.
- dan derks: part of the day-to-day operations at monome in upstate NY, assembling both instruments and documentation for ways to engage with them. They build code through improvisation, creating their own environments for playful and exploratory music performance gestures.
